Why we use heavyweight cotton (and what gsm actually means)
GSM stands for grams per square meter — it's a direct measure of how much fabric is packed into the shirt you're wearing. Most fast-fashion tees sit around 140-160gsm. Ours start at 220gsm and go up to 240gsm.
What heavier fabric actually gets you
Heavier cotton drapes instead of clinging, resists pilling, and doesn't go see-through after a dozen washes. It also holds a print or puff-ink logo far better than thin jersey, which is why our graphic tee still looks sharp long after a typical tee has faded.
It's not just about weight
Combed cotton (used in the pocket tee) has had its short fibers removed before spinning, giving a smoother, more durable yarn than standard carded cotton. Garment-dyeing and washing before the tag goes on means the shrinkage happens in our facility, not your dryer.
The tradeoff
Heavier fabric costs more to produce and ship. We think it's worth it: fewer tees that actually last longer beats a drawer full of thin ones you replace every season.
